Acclaimed jazz pianist and Crane School of Music graduate Larry Ham will be making a quick swing through the North Country, performing in Edwards, Norwood and Saranac Lake.
On Saturday, July 30, Ham performs with his quartet, drummer Mike Melitobassist Lee Hudson, and saxophonist Woody Witt, at the Edwards Opera House at 7:00. The group calls itself the “New York/Texas Jazz Express.”
That same group performs the following evening, Sunday July 31, at the Norwood Village Green Concert Series as part of a double bill with the excellent Potsdam-based duo Bill Vitek (piano) and Laura Brown (vocal). The Norwood Concert is also at 7:00.
On Tuesday, August 2 at 7:00 Ham and Witt perform as the “NY/Texas Jazz Duo” at the Left Bank Cafe in Saranac Lake.
Ham hasn’t performed in the North Country since February 2015, when he was guest artist with the Crane Jazz Ensemble at SUNY Potsdam.
